MY APPROACH

Inner parts

Different wishes and responses can coexist. One part wants change, another seeks security. Such internal contradictions are human and can be considered more closely.

AMBIVALENCE

When several inner positions speak at the same time.

Maybe you want to make a decision and hesitate at the same time. Or you react differently in a situation than you had planned. We can distinguish these positions without hastily considering any of them wrong.

Some reactions have a protective function or indicate an important need. In conversation, it is interesting to know what each position represents and when it becomes especially noticeable.

REFLECTION

Take a closer look with a little distance.

  • ObservationWhat inner voices or impulses occur? What do they need, and when do they make themselves heard?
  • Exploring how they relateHow do these different positions relate to one another? What additional possibilities for action are conceivable?

One approach, not a fixed model.

Working with inner parts is a way to discuss ambivalences and inner conflicts. It does not require a certain classification of your personality. What matters is whether this perspective is helpful and fitting for your concern in the therapeutic process.
