MY APPROACH

Constellation work

Some relationships or inner images are easier to explore if we represent them spatially. A constellation can offer a way to work and reflect in the psychotherapeutic process.

EXPLORING IN SPACE

Placing elements in space can open up a conversation about different perspectives.

People, relationships, or aspects of a concern can be arranged with figures, objects, floor anchors or other representations in the room. Positions, proximity and distance as well as different perspectives can be considered.

The representation is not an image of an objective truth about other people or a family. First of all, it shows how a situation is perceived at the moment, and gives rise to questions and new hypotheses.

IN CONVERSATION

What changes when the perspective changes?

  • Perceiving patternsWhich relationships or dynamics stand out? What is visible from another position?
  • Testing possibilitiesWhat might a different arrangement or a shift in perspective mean for your own actions?

INTEGRATION

A method within therapy.

Whether a constellation is appropriate depends on your concern and the joint therapeutic process. Observations are then discussed and compared with your experiences. The method can open up new questions and possibilities for action without specifying an interpretation.
